📍 Karachi, Pakistan | Full-time | On-site

At Sastaticket.pk, we're rebuilding our data platform from the ground up to support a high-traffic travel marketplace serving millions of bookings and travellers.

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer who wants to own meaningful systems—not just maintain existing pipelines.

What You'll Own

Lead the migration from our legacy query platform to a modern lakehouse architecture.

Build scalable ELT pipelines using PostgreSQL, S3, dbt, Apache Iceberg, and Athena.

Design and operate a high-volume event tracking platform using ClickHouse.

Build reliable, tested, and finance-grade data models and pipelines.

Own data quality, monitoring, reliability, and cloud cost optimization.

Partner with Product, Data Science, Finance, Growth, and Operations to build trusted data products.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar data platform role.

Strong SQL and Python skills.

Production experience with dbt or equivalent data transformation/warehouse technologies.

Strong data modelling fundamentals.

Experience with PostgreSQL/OLTP extraction, CDC, incremental loads, updates, and deletes.

Working knowledge of AWS — S3, IAM, and at least one of Athena, Glue, ECS, or Lambda.

Strong engineering practices: Git, CI/CD, testing, code reviews, and documentation.

Proven experience owning a data system, migration, or platform end to end.

Nice to Have

ClickHouse or other OLAP technologies.

Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Hudi.

Kafka/Pulsar and CDC tools such as Debezium or DMS.

Power BI and high-volume event analytics.

Experience with cloud cost optimization.
