🚀 We're Hiring: Junior Cyber Security Analyst (Remote)

📍 Location: Remote

🕒 Working Hours: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM (PKT)

📅 Experience Required: 1–2 Years

Cognitive IT Solutions is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Cyber Security Analyst to join our growing team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in identifying security vulnerabilities, monitoring threats, and implementing security best practices to protect organizational assets.

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor security alerts and investigate suspicious activities.

• Perform vulnerability assessments and basic penetration testing.

• Assist in incident detection, response, and remediation.

• Conduct security audits and risk assessments.

• Monitor network traffic and analyze security logs.

• Implement and maintain endpoint security solutions.

• Support compliance with security policies and standards.

• Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.

🔹 Required Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of Cyber Security fundamentals and best practices.

• Knowledge of Network Security, TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Firewalls, and IDS/IPS.

• Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Wazuh, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar).

• Familiarity with Vulnerability Assessment tools such as Nessus, OpenVAS, or Qualys.

• Basic Penetration Testing knowledge using tools like Burp Suite, Nmap, Metasploit, and Wireshark.

• Understanding of Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR/XDR) solutions.

• Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Active Directory security.

• Familiarity with Cloud Security concepts (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

• Understanding of OWASP Top 10 and common web application vulnerabilities.

• Experience with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Identity & Access Management (IAM), and Zero Trust concepts.

• Basic scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell, or Bash is a plus.

• Knowledge of Security Frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls is preferred.

🔹 Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security, or a related field.

• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CEH, SC-900, AZ-500, or Google Cybersecurity Certificate will be considered an advantage.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
