Position: Database Administrator (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, DB2)– L1
Location: Islamabad
Job Summary:
The Junior DBA (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, DB2) will support daily operational tasks across various open-source and enterprise databases. This role involves basic monitoring, maintenance, and assistance with troubleshooting activities under the guidance of senior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor database health metrics, disk space, memory usage, and replication status.
Perform routine tasks like data loading, backups, and housekeeping.
Assist in managing MySQL InnoDB clusters, MongoDB ReplicaSets, and DB2 HADR environments.
Respond to monitoring alerts, open support tickets, and escalate issues per SOP.
Support log analysis and generate preliminary incident reports.
Maintain and update operational documentation as directed.
Participate in DR drill preparation and contribute to internal knowledge base.

Candidate Education/Experience/Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or equivalent.
Experience: 1–2 years
Databases: MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, DB2
Role Type: Entry-Level / Support Role
Required Skills:
Basic knowledge of MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL installation and configuration.
Familiarity with replication concepts and backup tools (e.g., mysqldump, pg_dump, mongodump).
Understanding of database users, roles, and security basics.
Comfortable working with Linux environments and basic shell scripting.
Eager to learn advanced performance tuning, automation, and HA techniques.
Preferred Tools/Technologies:
Linux (RedHat/SUSE/CentOS), basic shell scripting
Monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, or equivalent)
Version control basics (Git)
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn.
Ability to follow procedures and document technical tasks.
Good communication skills and team collaboration.
