Macrosoft Pakistan is looking for a seasoned Search Engineer to architect, build, and optimize large-scale search and content-discovery systems using Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or similar platforms. This role drives the backbone of high-throughput, mission-critical applications and influences technical direction across teams.

𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

• Architect, deploy, and operate search clusters in cloud or hybrid environments (AWS preferred)

• Design index strategies, mappings, sharding models, ingestion pipelines, and query tuning

• Automate infrastructure operations: CI/CD, monitoring, logging, alerting, scaling, IaC

• Ensure HA, DR, performance tuning, and cost-efficient scaling of search platforms

• Partner with Engineering, Data, Product, and SRE teams to deliver search-powered features

• Lead architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and establish search best practices

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲

• 4+ years building and operating search infrastructure (Elasticsearch/OpenSearch)

• Deep understanding of search engine internals: indexing, scoring, DSL, caching, distributed systems

• Strong experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and Infrastructure as Code

• Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Shell, Node.js, etc.)

• Hands-on with observability/monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, OpenTelemetry)

• Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, resilience, and scalability

• Proven ability to lead technical direction and cross-team initiatives
