About the Role 

xFlow Research Inc. is hiring to join our Research & Standardization team in Islamabad. You will work across telecom standards, reference software, & automated testing; analyzing specifications, creating machine-readable models, and validating interoperability. You will directly contribute to active ETSI task forces (STFs and TTFs), focusing on Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV) and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC), alongside broader working/technology initiatives. 

What We Work On 

Within the Research & Standardization team, we collaborate with international standards bodies, open-source communities, and global industry partners. 

Our work bridges the gap between emerging specifications and working implementations across a diverse, expanding set of domains, including: 

Edge computing (MEC), NFV architectures, telecom core, & cloud-native functions. 

Telco network APIs (CAMARA, GSMA Open Gateway), OpenAPI/JSON Schema modeling, and service federation. 

Test suites & tools verifying compliance with official standards. 

Experimental proof-of-concepts in areas including, but not limited to, Cybersecurity, Quantum-Safe Cryptography, programmable data planes, V2X/intelligent transport, and cloud gaming edge optimization. 

What You Will Do 

Conduct research on emerging technologies and follow recent advancements in, inc. but not limited in NFV, Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC), and IoT. 

Collaborate with leading standards bodies (SDOs) on the development of testing methodologies & standard test specifications. 

Support SDOs’ efforts to develop open-source conformance and interoperability testing tools for current industry standards related to NFV, MEC, and oneM2M. 

Design, develop, test, & deploy software applications. 

Employ state-of-the-art testing frameworks to perform automated user acceptance testing for standardized APIs. 

Identify potential research and collaboration opportunities with academia and open-source communities on projects relevant to xFlow’s domain expertise. 

What We Are Looking For: 

We welcome fresh graduates, early-career engineers, and experienced professionals/researchers with strong engineering fundamentals and a research-oriented mindset: 

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Telecom Engineering, or a related field. 

Solid grasp of computer networks, operating systems, and programming principles. 

Proficiency with at least one language (Python preferred, or Go / C / C++) and Linux. 

Familiarity with computer networks, RESTful APIs and basic testing/debugging practices. 

Ability to read & understand technical documentation, specifications, & RFCs. 

Clear written & verbal English communication skills. 

Curiosity & Adaptability to learn new technical topics as projects evolve.
