Job Title: IT Support Specialist

Reports To: Head of Department - IT

Job Summary:

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure, including network systems, servers, and security protocols. The role ensures smooth day-to-day IT operations, system reliability, and data security while supporting organizational growth through infrastructure enhancements and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN.

• Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. 

• Implement and enforce network security policies, access control lists (ACLs), and firewall rules. 

• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal system availability. 

• Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning initiatives. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for IT infrastructure projects and new deployments. 

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) environments. 

• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file sharing services. 

• Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Hyper-V. 

• Ensure data backup, disaster recovery, and system security compliance. 

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues. 

• Maintain documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures. 

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent.

• 3-5 years of relevant experience.

• CCNA / CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional) 

• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server / Azure Administrator 

• CompTIA Network+ or Security+ 

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching). 

• Hands-on experience with enterprise networking hardware and firewall configurations. 

• Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux system administration. 

• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware / Hyper-V). 

• Good understanding of cybersecurity practices and network security.

• Problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail. 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

• Strong communication and documentation skills.
