We Are Hiring: IoT Data Engineer
Remote (Pakistan) | Part-Time (20+ hrs/week) | Potential Full-Time
Tekgami is looking for an experienced IoT Data Engineer to support and scale an energy-monitoring platform (EcoSnap). The role focuses on improving real-time IoT data reliability, optimizing MQTT/MongoDB pipelines, and building robust monitoring, validation, and recovery systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit and optimize MQTT/MongoDB ingestion pipelines
- Implement caching, buffering, gap detection, and recovery mechanisms
- Improve MQTT topic structures, QoS configurations, and connection stability
- Optimize MongoDB schema design, indexing strategies, and aggregation performance
- Build data validation checks, anomaly detection logic, and quality dashboards
- Deliver documentation and architecture handoff materials
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with MQTT
- 3+ years of experience with MongoDB
- Proven experience building and maintaining IoT data pipelines
- Strong backend development skills (Node.js or Python)
- Familiarity with AWS services (SQS, Lambda, ECS)
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Kafka or Pulsar
- Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
- Docker / Kubernetes
- Energy-tech or hardware-integration experience
