Job Title: Senior Power BI Developer

Client: Abidi Solutions

Location: Islamabad (Onsite) or Karachi

Timing: 7pm to 4am

Department: Business Intelligence / Data & Analytics

About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Power BI Developer to lead the development and governance of our business intelligence platform. You'll be responsible for architecting robust, scalable, and performant data models and driving the adoption of a data-driven culture across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and implement the overall architecture for the Power BI ecosystem

- Architect and build complex, optimized, and scalable semantic data models

- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in reports, DAX calculations, and data refresh schedules

- Manage the Power BI Service environment, including workspace governance, security (RLS), and user access management

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior BI developers and analysts

- Develop and manage sophisticated ETL processes using Power Query (M) and potentially Azure Data Factory or SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

- Partner with IT, data engineering, and business teams to define the long-term data and analytics roadmap

Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience

- 7 years of proven experience as a Power BI Developer

- Expert-level proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling

- Deep hands-on experience with the Power BI Service

- Strong experience in implementing Row-Level Security (RLS)

- Proficient in SQL and experience with relational databases

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize for performance at scale

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with other Microsoft Azure data services

- Knowledge of Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, and ALM Toolkit for advanced development

- Experience with APIs for data ingestion

- Programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell)

- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or related advanced certifications
