Role Overview:
We are seeking a senior-level Accounting Team Lead / Finance Manager to oversee accounting operations, review team output, and ensure high-quality financial reporting for UK and US clients. This role requires deep expertise in QuickBooks Online and Xero, strong leadership skills, and experience working with international accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and mentor a team of bookkeepers and accountants
Review work completed in QuickBooks Online and Xero to ensure accuracy and compliance
Oversee bank, credit card, and clearing account reconciliations
Ensure proper handling of UK and US client accounts and reporting
Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Monitor cash flow, expenses, and budgeting activities
Support and review UK and US tax filings and compliance work
Oversee payroll reviews and employee reimbursements
Act as the main finance contact for management and key stakeholders
Improve accounting workflows, internal controls, and reporting processes
Requirements (Mandatory):
5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Strong, hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and Xero
Proven experience leading or managing an accounting or finance team
Direct experience working with UK and US clients
Solid understanding of UK and US accounting and compliance basics
Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills
Strong attention to detail and review mindset
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
Nice to Have:
Experience in fintech, tax, or financial services
Familiarity with UK VAT and US sales tax processes
Experience scaling teams or improving accounting systems
Exposure to automation and cloud-based accounting tools
